SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following nummary and forecast at 5 p.m.: Summary.—Anti-cyclonic conditions now prevail, the barometer having risen everywhere, with decreasing southerly winds. Cold and showery weather ha*s prevailed, but the conditions have considerably improved to-day in •most parte of the country. Forecast.— ■Present indications are for moderate to •strong southerly winds, with a rising barometer. The weather will probably be generally fair by day and cold at night. Another westerly low pres/ire area is likelv to pass southward of New Zealand in the early part of next week, and cause strong wwterlv winds southward of New Plymouth and Castlepoint.
