SYDNEY UNEMPLOYED. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. Sydney, May 2. Mr. McGowen read a deputation of unemployed a sharp lesson. He declared that the applicants for work refused jobs at 9s to 11b. In reply to a statement that the people were committing suicide and babies starving in Sydney, owing to scarcity of food, he declared that he would guarantee that no one need starve.
