The Taviuni arrived about noon yesterday from southern ports with about 400 tons of general cargo. She is expected to sail for Westport and Greymouth this morning. THE WAIRAU. The Wairau discharged her cargo of cement yesterday and was expected to sail for Mokau at midnight. Her departure, however, depended upon the state of the bar at Mokau. It is reported that it is not improbable that the Wairau may see some service on this coast. The smaller river ports of North Taranaki have suffered somewhat since the loss of 'the Manakau at Waitara, and the Wairau is considered not an unlikely successor to that vessel. THE KARORI. The Karori, which is due here from Newcastle next week, will have 1000 tons of coal, 000 tons of Abcrmain coal for the Westport Coal Company, and 400 tons of Aberdare coal, of which 300 tons are for the local Gas Company and 100 tons for Ward and Son.
