A PROTEST. Gisborne, April 29. At the annual meeting of the Gisborne Alliance to-night a resolution was passed requesting the New Zfeaalnd Alliance at its forthcoming conference to protest against the manner in which the great majority of the newspapers had inserted articles on the liquor question as advertisements prior to the election last year in a manner not merely conducive, but calculated seriously to mislead, the reading public, and urging the Alliance to bring the matter under the notice of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association.
