THE FARMERS' FIRE INSURANCE ASSOCIATION. ;'-r By Telegraph —Press Association. Eltham, Last Night. The seventh annual meeting of the Taranaki Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Association was held to-day. The report disclosed an improved financial position. The premium income for the year amounted to £IO6B lis Bd, being £35 in excess of the previous year. The insurance liability, after allowing for reinsurance, was£2l4,73G, against£2l2,424 at the close of the previous year. Tin total policies number 715, the general average being £296. The cash reserve amounts to £3902 4s Bd, being £833 in advance of the previous year. The premium votes in force amount to £10,341 being an increase of £177, making a total increase in the assets of £lOll. A satisfactory arrangement had been agreed upon with the State Office. The report and balance-sheet were adopted Messrs. J. T. Quin, J. Christoffel, S. Forsyth, It. Lambie, E. Maxwell and F. W. Wilkie were re-elected directors. The question of increasing the rates on dairy factories risks was referred to the in-, coming board. The chairman claimed that the Association's rate of 8s per cent, was the lowest in the Dominion.
