DEATH FRO'M HEART FAILURE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The Inspector of Police has been advised that Arthur Jones, seventy years of age, was found dead in his hut at Roxburgh to-day. Deceased, who was a single man, lived alone. He had been 'a resident of the district for "tnany years. Death is attributed to heart failure. YOUNG- WOMAN'S SUDDEN END. Napier, Yesterday. Constance Cecilia St. Paul, the 23-year-old daughter of Mr. H. V. St. Paul, manager of the Bank of Australasia, died suddenly as the result of heart failure. She made no complaint of feeling ill yesterday, but shortly after bidding her parents good-night, Mr. St. Paul heard a noise, and looking into his daughter's bedroom, found her lying on the floor, dead. BADLY /BURNT. Wellington, Yesterday. Mrs. Jean Smith, of Ivarori, aged 28 years, was badly burnt to-day while heating beeswax over a fire, and lies in the hospital in a critical condition. Later. Mrs. Jean Smith, who was burned this morning while boiling fat at her residence a,t Wadestown, and was taken to the hospital, is reported to-night to bo in a very serious condition. A SUDDEN DEATH. Pahiatua, Last Night. Mr. William Keeble, forty-seven years of age, a well-known resident of the Wairarapa, died suddenly in his shop at Pahiatua to-day, it is supposed from heart disease. He leaves a wife and family. "CHOPPING WOOD." While chopping wood at Fitzroy this week, a boy named Mack injured his foot, necessitating his removal to the hospital.
