: SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—Summary: Stormy weather has been experienced in most parts of the country. Much snow has fallen m the high' country in the south, and hail showers are reported in several districts. Westerly and southerly winds, strong to gale, have prevailed. The barometer has been very unsteady. Forecast: Present indications are for cold and stormy weather, hail, rain and snow in parts, strong westerly winds veering to southerly gales generally, and the barometer risin.7 fnst everywhere. A high Jjarometric pressure may be anticipated, with an i«ip' , oYrm"iit in ■weather conditions, after from 3G to 48 hours.
