THE SINGER EMBEZZLEMENT
A LIGHT SENTENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Received 29, 9.35 p.m. Sydney, April 29. Macpherson pleaded guilty to stealing £'5497 from the Singer Company, and was sentenced to a year's imprisonment. The Chief Justice remarked that he took into consideration the fact that the example set him in the office was not the best.
