' . SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Preis Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m. to-day:—The barometric pressure is still everywhere considerably below normal, and cold and stormy weather has been experienced in many parts, but especially on the west coast and in the northern and southernmost districts. High westerly and south-westerly winds have prevailed and much snow has fallen on the higher level in the south. Forecast:—Present indications are risingobarometer everywhere, with southerly wind*, strong to gale, cold and changeable weatheT, heavy showers in most parts, and snow on the higher levels.
