THE COAL STRIKE.
A FUTILE CONFERENCE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 23, 10.10 p.m. London, April 22. Lord St. Alwyn presided at the first meeting of the South Wales Coal Board. No agreement was reached on a single point. The men claimed the original schedule, and the owners proposed rates averaging 3s daily less. The men contend that the rates should foe based on the average wages.
