The general council of the Irish eountv councils report that the financial clauses of the Home Rule Bill are unsatisfactory, and need drastic amendment. The minimum demand must include Ireland's retention of all her taxes, subject to 9 per cent, contribution to Britain, and the control by the Irish Parliament of all Irish services. DEMONSTRATION AT CORK. London, April 22. The Duke of Devonshire, Earl Kerry and Lord Middleton addressed an enthusiastic Munster Anti-Home Rulers' demonstration at Cork. THE NATIONALIST CONVENTION. London, April 22. Mr. Redmond has received cablegrams from the Archbishops of Sydney and Melbourne, and the Bishops of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Zealand, approving of Home Rule, j The Nationalists invited Mr '\V. 0. Gladstone, member for Kilmarnock, to attend the Irish convention at Dublin to-day. j NEW ZEALAND CONGRATULATIONS, j By Telegraph—Press Assoi:i.it«'#n. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. Martin Kennedy has sent the following cablegram to Mr. John Redmond, president of the Convention of All Ireland. which is being li -ld in Dublin to consider the Home Rule Bill: "New Zealand Home Rulers send congratulations on the splendid outcome of your work. Ireland's great hsart can forgive past oppressions, and she will be enabled through the Bill to accept her rightful place in the great Empire to which we are proud to belong."
