1 SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Presa Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday: —Summary.— An ex-tropical cyclonic disturbance has brought heavy rain and easterly gales oyer the northern districts. The disturbance is apparently travelling down the west coast of the North Island, with a lowest pressure of about 29 inches near Cape Egmont, and rain and mist are spreading everywhere. Forecast. — Present indications are for misty and stormy weather generally, with heavy rain and rivers flooded in many parte of the country. High northerly winds veering by west to SOUth'sootf, northward of East Cape and Kawhia, and easterly to southerly strong to gale elsewhere. Storm warnings are extended to-day fo the east coast of the South Island. The barometer will probably rise everywhere after 10 to 16 hours.
