SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. . The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast: — The barometer had a falling tendency everywhere until Monday evening, when a slight rise took place in the south. Strong westerly winds prevailed and unsettled weather with rain in parts, and especially on the West Coast. Present indications are for a cyclonic storm developing over the North Island within the next 36 hours, high easterly winds prevailing, with heavy rain and a falling barometer. The winds will probably change from east to south-easterly and increase in the south, with showery and changeable weather, turning colder shortly.
