By the collapse of a wall at Annandale two men named Roper and Habens were killed and a third injured. SHORTAGE OF WORK. Sydney, April 19. Fifty boilermakers have been discharged from the Government dockyards owing to the absence of sufficient iron of the character required. Work has been resumed at the Lithgow blast furnaces. REPORTED ISLAND MURDER. Hydney, April 19. It is reported that a French settler and his wife have teen murdered in South Malekuk. There are no details. CRIME IN SYDNEY. Sydney, April 19. The wave of crime- continues. Two women were held up by a masted man at Rockdale. Many instances of audacious bag and purse snatching and housebreaking are reported. A POLITICAL LIBEL. Perth, April 19. The third political libel action against the Kalgoorlie Miner, arising out of an article entitled "Three Rotten Sticks," referring to three Ministers, has been concluded. Mr. Conway, exColonial Secretary, was awarded £250 damages.
