During my term of office as Mayor I did everything I could to further those progressive measures initiated by the late Mr. Tisch, including the Greater New Plymouth and Tramway schemes. In the administration of the different departments of the Borough my aim was always to see that the greatest efficiency was combined with economy,. and to see that the ratepayers received { 20s for every £1 spent.
