BRITAIN'S NEW RIFLE.
AN IMPROVED WEAPON. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 17, 11 p.m. London, April 16. The Morning Post states that Britain's new rifle i 5222y 2 inches longer than the last and the calibre is .270 larger. The chamber is stronger, and the breach mechanism will permit of higher explosion, enabling it to secure a muzzle velocity of three housand feet.
