OIV'IL SITTING. Sitting in (his civil jurisdiction at the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning,. Mr. A. C'rooke, S.M.,"gave judgment for the plaintiff, by default, in the following cases:—Bullock and Johnson v. John William Ward, claim £5 las, coats 23s 6d; 6. W. White v. Charles S. Cottant, judgment for costs only, ss; Sargood, Son and Ewen v. William T. Cleaver, claim £25 4s (£2 10s); W. L. Gordge v. (Frank Cowell, claim for costs only, sa; ithe Public Trustee v. John Gilmour James, £,lO 3s (£1 10s 6d); Mrs. Burgess v. Thomas Brash, judgment for costs only, 7s. L. F." Webster proceeded against Alex. Ross on a judgment summons. An order was made-, on the application of Mr. C. H. Weston, for the payment of the sum of 6s 9d forthwith, in default 24' hours' imprisonment. Mr. C. H. Weston announced that plaintiff had withdrawn his action an the adjourned case in which the Official Assignee, on behalf of the (bankrupt estate of D. Oharteris, land agent, sued Bertha C. Jamieson for £34, representing commission alleged to be due to the plaintiff on the sale of a house at Vogeltown. Some argument ensued on Mr. Prank Wilson, counsel for defendant, applying for coste. Ultimately His Worship awarded costs to Jamieson to the amount of £2 Be.
