The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday:— Summary—The barometer fell in the south until midnight, but has risen both in the north and south to-day. The weather has been showery on all the western coast, and at times elsewhere. Conditions were very rough in Foveaux Strait last night. Forecast—Present indications are for a rising barometer everywhere, with westenly and southerly winds, strong to gale and cold and showery weather generally. .
