INGLEWOOD NEWS.

('From Our Own Correspondent.) On Wednesday evening, at the Wesleyan Church, a farewell social to the Rev. W. Bowie was held. The chair was taken by Mr. Jensen, circuit steward. During the evening songs were rendered oy Mr. iM. Sutherland and Miss Ivy Sutherland. Mr. Taylor, sen., spoke on behalf of the trustees, and Mr. J. Bennett on behalf of the Sunday School. Mr. Jensen then made a presentation to Mr. Bowie of a very nice inkstand, and to Mrs. Bowie of a silver hot-water jug. Mr. Bowie replied suitably. An adjournment was then made to the schoolroom, where refreshments were served by the ladies of the congregation, the new minister, the Rev. Mr. Griffiths, is not expected until next week The Boy Scouts had a good day on Easter Monday at the farm of Mr Wickstead. The day was very wet, hut the boys did some good work in spite ot the weather, some at cooking and others practising putting up a look-out station. It had been intended to have a good deal of bandaging and stretcher drill, but the ground was far too wet for the "patients" to lie on, so that part of the programme was left out. After the senior cadet parade on lhursday night a meeting was called for the purpose of forming a football club m connection with the company. The meeting was most enthusiastic. A membership of thirty was enrolled, a committee elected, colors chosen, etc. There is some very fine material in the club, and = t is eon/idently expected that the team will be heard of favorably in the comin* season The secretary (Mr. Warren) would be pleased to hear from any other cadet club in the district.

Tim Stratford Scouts arrived here at about half-past four on Saturday afternoon. The Inglewood troop had'pitched the camp and boiled the billy for Mem and a SO made a "hunter's stew," which tne btrattord hoys- were quite ready for in the course.of the evening an attack was made'on the camp by the Inglewood Scouts. .After tins a pleasant evening was spent "round the camp .fire," when boxing contests, etc., were indulged in
