Some railways have notified the collieries that the condition for the carriage of coal is that they must guarantee to supply the railways to the extent of 20 per cent, of the quantity carried. Many collieries strongly protest. The revolt in South Lancashire has collapsed. The troops overawed the young desperadoes. Thousands are now working at Wigan.
