FATAL FALL FROM A HORSE By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Friday. A fatal accident occurred at Ngamatapouri, inland from Waitotara, last evening, when Mrs. Smith, a recent arrival from the Old Country, who was married only six weeks ago, fell from her horse, her head striking the bank and breaking her neck. THE DROWNING FATALITY. Gisborne, Friday. The man drowned yesterday was Leonard Goatley, aged 27, recently from England. He had no friends in New Zealand. The body is not yet recovered. A FATAL FALL. Wai,pawa, Friday. James Reidy, aged about 50, a single man, fell from a gig and died shortly afterwards. The wheel passed over him, breaking seven of his ribs. A PREMATURE EXPLOSION. Te Kuiti, Friday. | In a blasting accident near Waitomo Caves, yesterday, a man named G. W.' Rogan had a narrow escape of fatal injury. Owing to a mishap with the fuse there was a premature explosion of powder, and Rogan was severely burnt on the face and hands. KILLED ON THE RAILWAY. Hastings, Last Night. ; Frederick Hicks, single, aired 25, temporarily employed at Williams and Kettle's as storeman, was pushing an empty truck from the firm's private sfding to the railway line, but failed to put the brake on in time, and, not lroticinsj a stationary truck, somehow <*ol his head jammed between the buffers. Death wns instantaneous.
