PETROLEUM SHARES. CABLE FROM LONDON. Yesterday Mr. H. J. Brown (chairman of directors of the British Oil Trust, Ltd.) received the following cable from London: "Coal strike has been settled. The public realise great advantage of oil for fuel purposes, and a boom in oil shares has commenced. Shares of Taranaki (N.Z.) Oil Wells, Limited, are being bid for on London Stock Exchange at a premium of Is 3d. Do not promise full allotments, as we anticipate that issue will be considerably over-subscribed. At the request of Ear] Ranfurly and other directors Henry is making arrangements to hurry as much as possible dispatch of the drilling machinery and refinery."'
