THE PRIME MINISTER.

VISIT TO OPUNAKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Eltham, Friday. The Prime Minister, accompanied* by Dr. Fitchett, Public Trustee, visited Opunake and discussed with residents matters connected with the local harbor board, West Coast leases, and various other subjects. Mr. Mackenzie was cordially received at a public meeting attended by four hundred people. The town was decorated with bunting. Last night Mr. Mackenzie delivered a lecture at Eltham town hall on Exploration in Western Otago, based on his personal experiences. The lecture was accompanied by scenic views, followed by a capital series of cinematograph views of the dairying and other industries, now first exhibited, and intended to advertise New Zealand in the Old Country. The views included pictures of the processes of butter and cheese making at Eltham and Riverdale and ensilage making at Marton Junction experimental plots. This evening Mr. Mackenzie will repeat the lecture at Kaponga. He will leave on his return to Wellington on Saturday.
