THE CADET MOVEMENT.
BOYS TO VISIT CANADA. By Telegraph—Presi A»e*eiati»n. Wellington, Wednesday. The Government has decided to send 20 senior cadets to Canada in response to an invitation to compete at the Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto. The competition will consist of the foillowing: Drill, physical drill and shooting matches. The contingent will leave in time to arrive in Toronto on or just before August 25 next. The Canadian authorities undertake to provide all transport by sea and rail, also to provide accommodation. Cadets to be eligible must pass the medical test, and their physical measurements must be: Height, sft. Gin. to sft. oinchest, relaxed 31in. to 32in.. inflated 3'4in.; age, 16 to 18. The cadets must have been efficient cadets from the age of 14, smart at drill and good .shots. Each military district is to supply five senior cadets. Before leaving for Canada the boys will train in or near Wellington for a month. During the absence from home 1 they will be required to devote part of each day to school work. Service with the contingent will count as qualifying service under the Defence Act.
