Colvin, Minister of Mines, was met to-night by a deputation from the Westland County Council in respect to a number of local requirements. He predicted that Mr. Payne and other Labor members would vote with the present Government for the next three years, and that if there was an appeal to th« country before then he believed th« present Government would go back with a fair majority, and that Sir Joseph Ward 'would yet ibe asked to again lead the Liberal Party. Mr. Colvin leaves •„ to-morrow morning for Greymouth, where he is to be entertained in the evening.
