AN INFLUENTIAL APPEAL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, April 8. The Duke of Argyle, Mr. Balfour, Mr. Bonar Law, and 1157 peers, members of Parliament, and other influential Scotsmen, have signed an appeal to Scotland on the subject of reunion. The Duke of Argyll, in a letter approving a general appeal to the Scottish public to support reunion, says he rejoices that efforts are being made to terminate the outward forms of separation. He adds that these exist chiefly in form, and for the exaltation of the Church of Rome.

The league sends weekly communications to sixteen hundred newspapers. THE OCEANA'S SPECIE. London, April 8. Bullion to the value of £190,000 has been recovered from the Oceana. A BOATING ACCIDENT. Tangier, April 8. The capsizing of a launch drowned two children of an official belonging to- the French legation, an English governess, and two nurses. The absence of landing facilities is attributed to the jealousy of the Powers, and renders the harbor a death-trap.
