The first demonstration held under the auspices of the United Districts Fire Brigades' Association commenced on Saturday, and was continued to-day in dry hut windy weather, in the presence of a large gathering of spectators. Two hundred firemen competed. Results:— Coil coupling championship (one inan) Wanganui, 58 4-osec., 1; Napier, 68 4-5 sec., 2; Dannevirke, 59 2-<ssec., 3. Wanganui won in the running-off tie. Hose hydrant union, three men—Dannevirke, 33 4-asec., ,1; Napier Railway, 30 2-ssec., 2; Napier City, 37% sec„ 3. Coupling, two men—Napier B, 34 4-ssee., 1; Wanganui, 34 -l-ssec., 2; Napier A, 37sec., 3. In the run-oli', Napier won. Wanganui won the grand aggregate with 53 points, Dannevirke scoring 47 points, and Napier City 40 points.
