Mr. P. J. McOortt, of the staff of the New Plymouth brancL of the Union Bank of Australasia, is to leave by the Mokoia to-day on a sis -weeks? (holiday trip to Sydney. Mr. R. 'Langman, of Westown, left for Wellington yesterday morning, en route to Australia He will join the Maunganui, which will sail for Sydney on Friday. He expects to be away about six weeks. Mr. T. Harle Giles, the Conciliation Commissioner for the Northern Taranaki District, will arrive in New Plymouth to-morrow and will hear the general laborers' dispute in the town hall, on April 11, and the carpenters dispute on April 15. Mr. Norman Barker, of Rotorua, one time a member of the Taranaki News' staff, was married yesterday to Miss Daisy Blanche'tt, of New Plymouth. The wed'ding was celebrated' at the Presbyterian church by tlhe Rev. Mr. Roseveare. The wedding breakfast was held at the house of the bride's parents. Mr. C. Wansborouigh, of Taihape, was best man, and Mr. Percy Bfenehett acted: as groomsman. Miss L. Barker and Miss Blandhett were the bridesmaids. The young couple, who were the recipients of many handsome presents, left for AVellington later in the day.
