THE MARINE DEPARTMENT'S FIND- j ING. j By Telegraph—Presn Awociation. j Ilawera, Tuesday. At a meeting of the Patea Harbor Board yesterday, the evidence of the preliminary enquiry 'by the Marine Department into the mishap to the steamer Kapuni a few weeks ago, was considered in committee. The following finding was reported:—The committee, having considered the evideuee, is of opinion that there is no blame attached to the pilot, the pout, or the Board in connection with the striking of the vessel on the eastern breakwater. A magisterial enquiry will not be held.
