Mr. B. H. Horner, 'of New Plymouth, lias been advised that lie has passed his surveyor's examination. Mr. C. E. Bellringer, Grand Master of the New Zealand Oddfellows, left for Christchurch yesterday to attend the biennial conference of that body. The Hon. T. Mackenzie, Prime Minister, -will be in the Taranaki district during Easter week, and the following are his engagements:—April 8, social to Mr. McCluggage at Stratford; 9th, banquet at Manaia in the evening; 10th, opening of bazaar at Manaia, at 2 p.m.; social at Eltham in the evening; llfli, meeting at Opunake at noon, and lecture in evening at Eltham; 12th, lecture at Kaponga in the evening, followed by a short social gathering; 13th, return to Wellington. Mr. T. B, Crump, of Eltham, has ro' ceived information of the death of his youngest brother, Mr. A. E. Crump, after an illness of over three years. He was educated at Auckland Grammar School and Nelson College and graduated B.A. in .1902 and M.A. with honors in 1903. He was teaching at King's College, Auckland, for some time and subsequently took an assistant mastership at Scots College, Melbourne, under the principalahip of Mr. Littlejohn, formerly principal of Nelson College. Mr. Crump died at his home, Canterbury, Melbourne, on March 21, at the age of 36.
