The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m. to-day: —Fair weather has ; i prevailed, but the condition has been unr - settled at times in the northernmost districts, with strong easterly winds. The ,v barometer has continued high, but un'f steady. Modc-rati easterly and norther- , ly winds have prevailed. Present indications are for moderate to strong easterly * and northerly winds generally. The ; barometer has a falling tendency. Hazy, mild and fair to cloudy weather is Probst, able generally. A low pressure is due to 5 pass in the south about next Saturday !■ evening, with unsettled weather sotifh- | ward of New Plymouth and Napier.
