The latter expressed himself as gratified by the entire absence of petty jealousy in Australia. TO LECTURE IN AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last ftight. A cablegram was received by the Town Clerk this morning from Sydney, conveying a request that the Town Hall should be reserved for either April 22 or April 29, on behalf of Captain Amundsen, the Antarctic explorer. The cablegram was despatched by Mr. Smythe, who has charge of the arrangements for any lectures which may be given by Captain Amundsen during his call at New Zealand, en route to South America, for the purpose of joining the Fram, prior to her departure for the North Pole. It is considered probable that Captain Amundsen will arrive in Auckland from Sydney on April 21.
