GOLF.

TARAHUA CLUB. The Tarahua Club opened its-season on Saturday afternoon in warm but delightful weather. About forty members were present, and a mixed foursomeß match, nine holes, was played for a trophy presented by Mr. Neal, the winners being Miss Warren and G. Grey, with a score of 55 points. Prior to the play, the president (Mr. T. C. List), in a short speech, formally declared the season open, and congratulated the club upon its improved position and prospects. Only two of the new greens are available for play, but temporary greens have been laid off at the other points, and in the course of a few weeks the whole nine greens should be ready for play. Afternoon tea was provided and dispensed by the wife of the president.
