STAR CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Star Football C'lul) was held last evening, MV J. Clarke presiding. In the absence of the secretary, air. G. Hawkins 'read the annual report and balance-sheet, a precis of which appeared in a previous issue of the News. The statement of assets and liabilities showed a credit balance of £2O lis lOd. On the motion of the chairman, it was decided to accept with pleasure the offer of the Technical College Football Club to become affiliated with the Stars' and to notify the organiser (Mr , Heatley) that the identity of the new club would' be preserved as far as the Rugby Union would permit. A sub-committee was delegated to interview Mr. Heatley about tlie matter. Officers -for the ensuing year were elected as folio- President. M'r. E. Dockrill (re-el' _>d); vice-presidents, Mr. 11. J. H. Okey, M.P., Drs. Fookes, Home and Leatham, and Messrs. D. Pemvardcn, F. Richards, J. Arthur, J. Avery, E. Whittle, Stan. Smith, J. McKean, Jas. Smith, W. J. Williams, W. Little, W. Tuthill; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. Preece; delegates to the Taranaki Rugby Union, Messrs. J. Clarke and G. Hawkins; management committee, seniors, Messrs. 11. Dewar, C. Sadler and C. D. McAllum; juniors, Messrs. Page and L. Richards (one member is to be elected by the Technical [College); club captain, Mr. J. Clarke; auditor. Mr. Jas. Garcia. , The appointment of a selection committee was left in the hands of the management committee. Votes of thanks were accorded to Mess'rs. E. Clarke and L. G. Hill for their past services, and regret was expressed at their departure from the district. Several new members were elected. It was dcided to d'raw the attention of the management committee to the offer of Mrs. Richards to organise progressive euchre parties with the idea of supplementing the funds of the club. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting.
