A TRAMWAY CASE. By Telegraph—Prw« Aueckbion. Wellington, March 28. In the Magistrate's Court to-day the Wellington Tramways Union was proceeded against for a penalty of £2OO in connection with the recent strike. Dr. McArthur, S.M., in giving judgment, said that the offence committed was a very serious one. A ease of a similar kind, in connection with the Merchant Service Guild, had come under his notice, and without going into the merits of this case he thought that if he treated the Tramways Union in the same way he would be getting as near the ends of justice as he possibly could. The union would he lined £IOO. THE WEST COAST WHARF LABORERS. Greymouth, Last Night. A meeting of the Greymouth Wharf Laborers' Union was held last night, when the delegates to the conference with the Union Steamship Company, recently hold in Dunedin, gave a detailed report. Messrs. P. C. Webb and J. Glover, representing the Federation of Labor, were present. The delegates' report was accepted. The members present were unanimous in accepting the Westport award. The agreement was signed this afternoon. It is now anticipated that everything will run smoothly.
