SIR JOSEPH WARD. RESOLUTION FROM NAPIER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Wednesday. A meeting' of the Liberals at Port Ahuriri adopted the following 'resolution: "The Liberal supporters of the Government at Port Ahuriri have every confidence in Sir Joseph Ward's able leadership, and trust he will reconsider his decision and continue to. lead the Liberal Party, in which we have every confidence."
THE RECENT CAUCUS. Wellington, Wednesday. Mr. Veitch, interviewed.' by the Times, said that the gathering last week was a conference between Liberals and Laborites and not a party caucus. The Laborites accepted Mr. Mackenzie as a compromise, but their ideal was an entirely new Cabinet. The Times -also states that several members who attended the caucus disclose that, the majority favored MiMillar, but, Mr. Isitt and the Labor mem bers were so insistent in opposition that the only alternative was to make another selection.
Mr. Laurenson's supporters were all South Islanders.
