; SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. ; Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:— The) barometer has had a falling tendency everywhere. Moderate to strong ' westerly winds have prevailed about and northward of Cook Strait, but easterly breezes have predominated elsewhere. Bain has fallen in many parts of the country, and there were heavy falls in -. tfce South Island during the night. Pref.~- teat indications are for strong westerly winds, veering to southerly shortly in / moat parts of the country. Changeable and showery weather is probable generally, and a cool change may be expected soon. There is little movement at present, but a rise in barometric preturo it due shortly.
