MOTOR CAR HIRE. MEETING of Motor Car Proprietors was held in Mr. J. W. West's office on Friday, 22nd March, for the [purpose of adjusting the hire of motor cars to correspond in some way with the increased price of benzine and motor accessories. After considerable discussion of the various points raised, the following resolution was adopted:— That all Car Hires under Three Pounds be charged 2/6 per hour waiting time after the first hour (up to £3), in addition to the fare of One Shilling per mile; and Five Shillings (5/-) per hour waiting time after G p.m., in addition to fare of One Shilling per mile. A further resolution was adopted:— That where roads are not metalled the fares shall be Sixpence per mile extra, in addition to the above fares.
