ROVERS CLUB. The third annual report of the Rovers Football Club, to be presented at a' general meeting of members to be held in the Towh Hall on Monday, is as follows: 'I The committee congratulates members on a most successful season, both financially and on the field of play. Last season the club, with other clubs which were formerly playing -under the local j Saturday Rugby Football Association, decided to. enter for the Taranaki Rugby championship, an d the result was the institution of a Saturday division controlled by the Taranaki Rugby' Union. The chang* proved most advantageous to the club and to Saturday football in general. The committee further congratulates the club on again being ruto-ners-.up in the competition, and trust* tjiftt tyiis play will see Rovers, ttyiifg conclusions for championship' honors with, the winners of the other divisions. Last season the club jplayed 9 matches, of which 6 were won and 3 lost, and scored 112 points against 63. The club commences the season with a credit balance of £4 13s, which is very satisfactory. The committee regrets the loss sustained by the club by reason of the marriage and departure from the district of eom? of its most active members, and in particular the club will miss the services of its energetic hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Grant. Members are urged to go into active training in view of the early commencement of fixtures. The thanks of the club are due to those ladies and gentlemen who generously assisted by contributions to the funds and otherwise, also the Press and the Referees' Association for their continued assistanoe' to the game.
