The Stratford Liberal League resolved to extend hearty congratulations to Sir Joseph Ward on the statesmanlike manner in which he had conducted thei affairs of the Dominion as Premier, as evidenced by the buoyancy of the finances and the country's general pros-1 perity, and the League considered it would be a national calamity if he retired from the leadership of the party at the present juncture.
