INGLEWOOD NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent^. Inglewood, Wednesday.- ; The "All Nations Fair," in aid of the funds of the Presbyterian Church, was • opened to-day. Fortunately the weather (was fine, and the fair promises to be very successful. There was a, good attendance of ladies this afternoon—the folk will not be in evidence until the evening—and the Parish Hall pre- .. sented a very animated scene. Thg various national costumes worn by the stallholders, the stall decorations, the national flags, and the splendid display of beautiful articles for sale combined to y make quite a dazzling display of color. The nations represented' on the stalls were as follows:—England (plain stall),- Mesdames Parli, Hopson, and Morgan; Scotland (produce stall), Misses ,- Todd 1 (2) and Burrows; Ireland (coun- . try stall), Mesdames Virgin and Wilson;*" France (men's stall), Mrs. Patterson, * and Messes Curtis and- Mackay; Germany (doll and toy stall), Mrs. Ballantine and two daughters; Spain (sweet stall), Mrs and l Miss Mcßeth; Italy (fancy stall), Mrs. Gibbs, Misses Johnson and Parli; Japan (painting stall), Mesdames Richards and Richardson and Miss Meston; Greece is being well repre* sented' by Miss Dora Curtis and Misses Allen (2) at the bran tubs, and a;lso by „ Misses E. Parli, Griffiths, N. Allen "and ' ; Young (2) acted_ as canvassers for tho various competitions which are going forward. Fair New Zealand was repre» sented at the afternoon tea tables by Mesdames Law and Dixon, whilst Misses Ruby and Myrtle Curtis acted as flower 1 girls. If the financial result in any way. 11 equals the amount of wojsk and energy . which have been put ln£o the affair the • d officers of the church will have good cause to -rejoice. I understand that the gentlemen are busy devising schemes whereby they may capture any spare, .j coins which may 'escape the attention# of the stall holders. The fair will be continued to-morrow, and will probably - , be even better attended than,, to-day, as Thursday being the half-holiday there will be more people at liberty. ;
