At the meeting of the council of the New Zealand Swimming Association to- ■ night the following records established N . . by; M. B. Champion at Auckland were , passed: 1760 yards, 24min 39sec; 440 yards, smin 45sec. ' ' "'," Two performances by Miss.Durack, at Auckland, applied to be classed aa world's records, viz., 50 yards, Slsecj ! , and 440 yards, 6min 42sec, were not passed on account of the rules not pro- ' ; viding for them. The times put up by M. E. Champion*, at .Christchurch, viz., 220 yard 6, 3min 37 3-sseo, and 880 yards, 12min 17 l-ssee, were passed as New Zealand records; the performance of Miss A. OlLeary, of Wellington, 100 yards, lmin 26sec. The council appointed M. E. Champion to represent New Zealand at the Olympic Games.
