THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast;— In the northern districts the barometer has fallen and skies are overcast, with rain in parts, and strong easterly and south-easterly winds. The 'barometer continues high in the south, with cool and changeable but generally fair weather and moderate to' strong southerly winds. Present indications are for stormy weather over the North Island and in Oook Strait; high easterly and '•oath-easterly winds prevailing'-north-ward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and heavy rain is probable shortly from a tropical disturbance apparently adiraacing from the north.' ' Cool and Changeable weather is probable in the ■onto, with moderate to strong southerly winds, and little movement of the barometer. , ,
