The stone | was at the crusher site, but the weather' J had put a stop to the work. The coa-l E tractor for the Ratapiko road culvert had made the excavation for the eulvert, but owing to a bad foundation a little extra concrete would be required. The work would be pushed on as soon as the weather permitted. | Mr. Chard comjplained of the manner in which the-metal was being put down. B Mr. Chard complained that tipping the loads out close to the laid metal and merely levelling them off was not spreading, and would never make a road. Mr. Laurence thought if the spreader i would not obey orders it would be necessary to enforce the use of boards. | Mr. Orbell said that if spreaders were J honest and moved all the stone it was. not necessary to use boards, but he sup-' posed he would have to enforce the use of boarii.
