AMUSEMENTS

BLASCHECK. To-morrow night at the Theatre Royal Mr. Joseph Blascheck, the famous English humorist, and his coadjuter, Miss Mildred Wrightson, will give their first performance of their "Society 'Snapshots," a collection of character studies, musical sketches, humorous songs, and duets, quaint stories and monologues. Mr. Blascheck brings .back memories of the late Mel. B. Spurr, who said Mr. Blascheck was the greatest versatile actor he had even seen or heard. Miss Mildred Wrightson, the talented vocalist and entertainer, who appears with Mr. Blascheck, is a daughter of the late Mr. T. Wrightson, the composer of a score of world-famous songs, amongst which may be mentioned, "Her Bright Smile Haunts me Still," "The Wishing Cup," "Thy Voice is Near," "Bright Star of Eve," and "The Postman's Knock." She made her debut at Beehstein's all about six years ago, and at once made a most favorable impression in London musical circles. Shortly after she accepted an engagement to support Mr. Blascheck to tour the world, and she created a furore with her charming "songs at the piano," which are now such an important feature of "Society Snapshots." The London Times, in the course of an extended notice, declared that "there is no other artist on the concert platform to-day to approach this lady in the style of work which she has made so popular." Genuine humor, the kind that induces the spontaneous, hearty, healthy laugh that cannot be repressed, is is sure as the stars. It is precious, and no opportunity of enjoying it should be missed; therefore the entertainment to be given by Mr. Blascheck to-morrow night at the Theatre Royal should be well patronised. There is not a dull minute during the whole programme laughter being the main feature of a Blascheck audience. The management announces that all doors will be closed at 8 o'clock sharp, and that there will be no admission during the items. The box plan is at Collier's.
