Sir Jacob Sassoon, who has presented three lakhs of rupees to the Government t>f India, has offered three lakhs more to erect a pavilion on Apollo Bunder to commemorate King George landing. Eliza Ganelli, a shop girl, who instituted a suit for £IO,OOO for breach of promise against Caruso, the famous tenor, has lost her case, on the ground that her honor remained intact. By an explosion at the Donetz Company's mine at Italianka fifty were | killed.
