SUICIDE IN A SCHOOL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Levin, Friday. William Henry Bignal, caretaker of the Levin schoolhouse, was found dead yesterday morning, hanging to a ladder in the school. He had been strange in his conduct for some months past. At the inquest a verdict of suieide while temporarily insane was returned. The evidence showed that deceased was struck severely on the head by flying timber at a sawmill some years ago, and since then had been given to moody habits and wandering abroad. I FATAL SHOOTING ACCIDENT. I | , _ Wellington, Friday. William Reeve, a clerk in the State Coal Department, shot himself at Paparangi, near Johnsonville, this morning. He went out early, spying he was going to shoot rabbits. Liter his body was found with the gun alongside and part of the head blown away. Wellington, Last Night. At the inquest concerning the death of Charles Reeves, who was found shot nt Johnsonville this morning, the evidence showed that deceased, who was 48 years old and a married man, had no worries, was of a cheerful disposition and enjoyed good health. There was nothing to show how the fatality occurred. A verdict was returned that death resulted from injuries from a gunshot wound, accidentally received.
A 'FATAL RAZOR CUT. Wellington, Last Night. Alfred Leigh was found this afternoon lying on the floor of a room which he rented in Taranaki street, with a small cut on the inside of his left forearm. A razor was beside him, and he was covered with blood. He was discovered -by his wife, who had gone to the house to get some money which he had promised to give her. Leigh was taken to the hospital, where he died shortly after seven. He was 39 years old, and was employed by the Wellington Gas Company. ■ ALIGHTING FROM MOVING TRAIN. Christchurch, Last Night. At the inquest on Wm. Gifford, who died in the hospital yesterday from injuries received on the 4th inst. at Lyttelton, a verdict was returned that death resulted from lockjaw, the result of injuries received in an attempt to alight from a moving train. ,
