The House of Lords, by 95 votes to 36, agreed to Lord Middleton's motion demanding the removal of Mr. Fitzgibbon. a member of the House of CommonH, from the Irish Congested Districts Board, on the ground that he incited tenants to withhold their rents. The Marquis of Crewe admitted that ifche speeches were indefensible, but Mr. !A- Birrell, Chief Secretary for Ireland, bad warned Mr. Fitzgibbon, who had promised to amend.
