TWENTY-SEVENTH ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—l?ress Association. _ Dunedin, Last Night. I he twenty-seventh annual convention ot the Women's Christian .Temperance Union was inaugurated to-day, when the delegates were officially welcomed by Mr Burnett (Mayor)-and extended a civic welcome. Speeches were also delivered by Mr. G. M. Thomson, M.P., Rev. R E. Davies (president of Council of Churches),, Messrs. G. Watson, W. J Moore, D. Gain and Mrs. Don. The speeches were acknowledged by Mrs. Cole. A thanksgiving seryice was held iri the evening.
