Some men lying in ,ambush on both sides of the road fired at six men who were driving from a hurling match at Gort, in Galway. All were wounded, two of them seriously. There have been no arrests. Judge Kenny, in opening the Roscommon assizes, declared that there was evidence of an organised system of terrorism; in the district.
